When you're looking for answers on how and where to start with Jesus it can be confusing or overwhelming.
We want you to know that it's not complicated. It's just taking the next step and then the next.
Check out below for how to begin your realtionship with Jesus as Lord & Savior.
John 3:3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Being born again means receiving a new spiritual life - being forgiven of sin - becoming a child of God.
Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
1. Recognize your need for God - we've all sinned, and that sin separates us for God. We cannot save ourselves. This is where you begin. With honesty before God.
Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
2. Understand what Jesus has done for you - Jesus died in your place. He paid for your sin. He rose again so you can new life. Salvation is not earned - it's received.
Acts 3:19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.
3. Repent - this means turning away from sin and turing toward God. It's about changing direction and surrendering to God. It's not about perfection, but a new direction.
Romans 10:9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
4. Believe in Jesus - believe that He is Lord of your life. Believe that He died and rose again. Put your full trust in Him alone. This is faith - not just knowing, but trusting.
Romans 10:13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”
5. Call on Him personally - a simple prayer could be: "Jesus, I know that I've sinned and I need you. I believe you died for me and rose again. I turn from my sin and give you my life. be my Lord and Savior. Make me new. From this day forward, I will follow you. Amen." It's not about perfect words - it's about a real heart.
